What Souls Are Saying
Endorsement Excerpts
For the past few weeks, I have been quietly observing this whirlwind of a woman who cares greatly for our most underserved population.
Currently we have few resources for the unsheltered, and with the recent Supreme Court decision to legalize the criminalization of homelessness it seems a bit unfair, if not cruel.
Continuing this endless cycle of criminalization for minor offenses such as sleeping outside or indecent exposure when public restrooms are not available for the homeless, just continues a revolving door of booking and releasing the homeless with no answer for how to help break the cycle.
Jaclyn appears to have solutions where we are lacking as a county.
Developing Diamonds community doesn’t just uplift one person, or house the choice few. It doesn’t relegate the disabled, mentally ill and neurodivergent to follow a strict program that may not be suited for them.
Instead it’s a multi step process of developing community, of giving shelter and safety to those in need, a place to keep their things, and have that sense of consistency that all people need to succeed.
As community develops, and the people learn to be reintegrated into society they can improve their living situation, building housing as a community, building each other up, instead of going it alone.
It’s an innovative approach to an humanitarian crisis. Please consider investing in this approach.
