Johnny was a 25-year veteran truck driver, logging over 1,200,000 miles without a single accident or ticket. Shortly after his retirement, he became homeless, and not long after that, his wife passed away from cancer. Her dying wish was that he promise to share his music with the world and finish law school.

Determined to honor her wish, Johnny spent five years traveling as a street performer, gaining life experience as the streets “seasoned” him. Drawing on his environmental awareness from his time being unhoused, he began building a fish hatchery in a canyon stream, where he has also created a unique home complete with steps, guest quarters, and a living space.

He now performs locally at night in Redding. With guidance from Jaclyn, he has started to develop his talents further as a way to give back to the community. She sees her Developing Diamonds Community Sanctuary as the place where Johnny can finally focus his gifts and community spirit—empowering others while fulfilling the promise he made to his wife.
